Two women who were allegedly taking packages from in front of houses last Christmas are scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court for arraignment this morning. Alisha M. Ezell and Evelyn Y. Aceves are scheduled to appear in Judge Michael Gibbons court this morning to enter a plea in the case.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is still listing an injury accident for Highway 208 at mile marker 5 from 3:34 a.m. today. That's about five miles west of Jack Wright Pass in southern Douglas County.

I attended a celebration for the father of Nevada towns on Father's Day Sunday. Nevada Magazine recognized Genoa as part of its Tour of Nevada program. There was cake and a plaque presentation in Genoa Park by magazine publisher and former R-C publisher Janet Geary.

Summer's here for real now. The clouds have cleared and the temperature is going to start climbing, though not very quickly. For today the high's predicted to be 78 degrees under sunny skies. It will take a week for temperatures to climb into the upper 80s, according to the National Weather Service.
