Sierra Lutheran senior-to-be Wade Meddles won the 3,200 at the Great Southwest Track & Field Classic over the weekend in New Mexico.
His won with a time of 9:29.28 against a field that had runners seeded with previous times of 9:12.00 and 9:18.00. His season-best is a 9:16.07, set at the Sacramento Meet of Champions in April.
The Great Southwest meet is recognized as one of the top four postseason regional/national track & field invitationals in the country, drawing more than 500 invited athletes from Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah every year.
It also serves as a qualifying meet for the USA Track & Field Nationals.
