Garden volunteers needed

Join gardeners 9 a.m. today at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park to help recreate Gertrude Dangberg's garden. Bring work gloves, hat, sunscreen and drinking water. If available, bring large pieces of corrugated cardboard and newspaper to add as compost materials.

DHS 20th reunion

The Douglas High School class of 1989 20-year reunion is 7 p.m. today at JT Basque Bar & Dining Room, with family picnic at Lampe Park noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, and dinner dance 6-11 p.m. Saturday at Walley's Hot Springs Resort. Cost is $50 per person. Contact, dhs89reunion@yahoo.com


Rocha lecture

Former Nevada State Archivist Guy Rocha is featured in the free Carson Valley Myth-Busting presentation, 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park.

The park provides some shade and chairs. Your own lawn chairs welcome.

Ranchos barbecue

The 28th annual Ranchos Fire Rescue dinner dance fundraiser is 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Station No. 7, 940 Mitch Drive, Gardnerville Ranchos. Dinner tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children 10 and younger. Battle of the bands at 4:30 p.m. Information, 265-2048.

Vaccine clinic, pet boutique, car wash Sunday

A low-cost pet vaccine clinic, DAWG boutique and car wash is 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Gina's Grooming, 791 Tillman Lane in the Gardnerville Ranchos. Ice cream social

Weekly Valley farmers markets feature fruits, vegetables, flowers, bakery items, gifts, outdoor decor, music and food.
