The R-C Morning Report

Windy weather over the next two days are expected to dry out the rest of the foliage, which will increase fire spread. The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather watch for Western Nevada for all day Tuesday and Wednesday. The strongest winds are expected Tuesday afternoon, with speeds of 15-25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph. Humidity is expected to drop to 5-10 percent drying out fuels. Gusty winds are back on Wednesday. The weather service may issue a red flag warning.

Genoa resident and AP Capital Bureau Chief Brenda Riley is retiring from his post. According to an article by fellow Carson Valley resident Ed Vogel, Riley wrote for the Associated Press for 39 years. He came to Nevada in 1972, and has been covering Nevada's leaders ever since.

The high temperatures will cool down a bit over the next few days, remaining firmly in the 80s until the end of the week. Today's high is expected to hit 85. The temperature should dip down to 80 by Wednesday.
