Gregg Wilfred Lamorey

A memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ranch House in Rancho San Rafael Regional Park for Gregg Wilfred Lamorey, 52, who died of cancer in Carson City on Jan. 6, 2009.

Prior to his employment as the Desert Research Institute in Reno Mr. Lamorey earned a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in geology from the University of California at Davis, as well as a doctorate in hydrology from the University of Nevada, Reno.

He was preceded in death by his father, Will Lamorey, in 2004; and his first wife, Susan Woodin, in 2005.

Mr. Lamorey is survived by his wife, Kerri of Carson City; mother Patricia Lamorey of Roseville, Calif.; sister Suzanne Lamorey and niece Maggie Lamorey of Charlotte, N.C.; brother Chris (Traci) Lamorey and nephew Buddy Lamorey of Placerville, Calif.
