High wind watch issued for Sunday

The National Weather Service issued a high wind watch at 3:28 p.m. Saturday for Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. Gusty winds of 20-35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph will develop by Sunday night and continue through the evening. Gusts of more than 70 mph are possible in wind prone areas.

Forecasters said travel will be difficult on north-south routes, such as Highway 395.

The high wind watch means there is the potential for strong damaging winds.

Winds over the ridgetops will exceed 100 mph.
