The R-C Morning Report

Burn season officially closes on Sunday, but as a practical matter, Friday may be the last day people will be allowed to burn. The Weather Service has issued a high wind watch starting Friday night predicting 25-45 mph winds with gusts of up to 70 mph possible. On Saturday the winds will be up to 30 mph with gusts of up to 45 mph. Winds are predicted to calm by Sunday morning, when it might be safe to burn again.

The good news is that the haze building up in the Valley will be swept away by the storm. The other good news is that the Weather Service is forecasting we'll have nearly five days of snow, including the chance for up to 2 inches on Sunday.

We're anticipating a storm on the Web site this weekend as our IT folks move our servers. Whatever happens could hit as early as Friday night and last through Monday, or it could be a couple of glitches during the weekend. You may see blank pages with an error message at times. The goal is to keep the outages brief and the Web sites updated.
