Genoans thought a nice addition to the county's rewrite of the festival permit would be their exclusion from its provisions. Pointing out that the town is an entity of the county, like Douglas Parks & Recreation, board members passed a resolution on Tuesday night seeking an exemption for themselves, Minden and Gardnerville.

A proposal to contract out Indian Hills water and sewer plant operations is before improvement district trustees tonight. The four employees won't be going gently into that good night, as they're bringing their union rep to the party. Trustees meet 6 p.m. at the Indian Hills General Improvement District offices on James Lee Park Road.

Today's forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high of 45 degrees. If that worked the way it has for the past two weeks when the forecast called for snow and we had partly sunny skies, it would be dumping out right now,. The weather forecasters are pretty good at predicting when it's not going to snow.
