Senior center's 90-plus birthday party Feb. 18

The Douglas County Senior Center's annual 90-plus birthday celebration begins 10:30 a.m. Feb. 18, at the center, 2300 Meadow Lane in Gardnerville.

Those 90 years and older have been honored with a birthday party at the senior center since 1997 when there were 16 founding members of the 90-plus club. This year, 96 seniors have been invited.

This is a special day for the seniors and the family members who attend. Birthday honorees will be presented with special certificates and flowers. Lunch is chicken Cordon Bleu, fresh fruit salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, roll, cake and ice cream.

Hearts with the names and dates of birth of all of the 90-plus seniors cover a wall in the senior center dining. Information at the Douglas County Senior Center, 783-6455.
