Heritage makers to visit senior center

Preserve your stories and photos in books on Thursday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the senior center in Gardnerville. Vicky Moon with the Heritage Makers is going to do a free seminar to show how to take your new and old photos and make them into a classic storybook.

She plans to visit the center before the event to show the seniors examples of these storybooks. Linda Kyriakopoulos has brochure samples of the storybooks if anyone is interested in viewing them. Call her at the center, 783-6455 or drop in.

Art show and sale new to center

On Feb. 28, Young at Heart is presenting its first art show and sale at the senior center in Gardnerville from 10 a.m. to noon. The public is welcome. Local artists have been asked to submit their paintings to the sale.

A silent auction will take place. To enter the show and sale, call Esther Hildebrand at the center, 783-6455.

"We are anxious to see how this goes. It sounds like a great place to pick up a painting and if all goes well, we will do it again next year.," said Janice Frost, a member of both YAH and the Carson Valley Art Association.
