The R-C Morning Report

The big school budget meeting is 5 p.m. today at Douglas High School. School board trustees will be asked to approve a plan calling for cuts to the budget in preparation for whatever will end up coming out of the Legislature.

It looks like the storm is being shredded by the Sierra on its way in. The wind is supposed to calm down a little bit today allowing the storm to gather. The National Weather Service is betting a 90 percent chance of snow tonight with accumulations of 1-2 inches.

There are still some road controls out there, mainly for Sierra highways like Kingsbury and Highway 50 along Lake Tahoe in Douglas County. You'll need chains or four-wheel drive to get across any of the passes to California this morning. Chains or snow tires are required south of the California state line all the way to Bridgeport.
