Man admits marijuana possession

A Reno man admitted to possessing about 35 ounces of marijuana.

Michael John Gillmann, 24, appeared in Douglas County District Court on Monday.

Gillmann pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance, which carries mandatory probation unless there are special circumstances.

The underlying sentence is up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

"I can't tell you you'll get probation, but the likelihood is high you will," Judge Michael Gibbons said.

Gillmann was arrested April 23. His sentencing was set for Feb. 1.
