Gardnerville man pleads no contest to felony marijuana possession

Sentencing was set for March 17 in the case of a Gardnerville man who pleaded no contest to one count of felony possession of marijuana on Tuesday.

Iqbal Singh, 20, will receive probation on the charge, which carries a maximum underlying sentence of 4 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

As part of the negotiation, Singh won't seek diversion or release from custody before he is sentenced.

District Judge Michael Gibbons told Singh that his probation could include jail time. Singh pleaded no contest to possession of 29 grams of marijuana.
