Entertainment at CVI

Lord/Quinn continues in the Carson Valley Inn Cabaret Lounge through Saturday, Perfect Circle appears Dec. 24-26 and NFL Football plays in the Cabaret Lounge on Monday and Thursday nights. Live entertainment is presented with no cover and no minimum in five 45-minute shows on the half-hour starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Lord/Quinn duo is Stephen Lord on guitar and vocals and Tony Quinn on guitar, keyboard and vocals. Their 1,000-song repertoire includes oldies, country, pop, blues, jazz, soul, rock.

Migrating from Chicago, Gary Douglas on guitar and bass and Kevin Tokarz on keyboard and bass performed at the CVI in the mid-'80s. Vocalist Terry Gerard rounds out Perfect Circle.

NFL and college football plays in the Cabaret Lounge on Monday and Thursdays with big-screen action, food and beer specials and prize drawings.

The CVI Cafe Cabaret is open 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sundays and 5 p.m. until the end of the third quarter during Monday and Thursday Night Football.

Live music at 88 Cups

Acoustic Solution plays, 7:15 p.m. Saturday, at 88 Cups Coffee and Tea, 1663 Lucerne St. in Minden Village. Acoustic Solution is John, Wendy and Seth Andrews who play eclectic folk and electrified acoustic music on guitars, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, piano, percussion and drums. The band plays covers by Crosby, Stills and Nash, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Grateful Dead, and original material. Information, 783-0688.

Cowboys Christmas concert

David John and the Comstock Cowboys perform "Christmas in the Sierra," 8 p.m. Saturday, at the Genoa Town Hall. Cost is $27 for dinner and concert, and $15 for concert only. Dinner of chili, baked potatoes and soft drink at 6:30-7:30 p.m. No-host bar. Event benefits the Genoa Events Committee. Genoa Bar happenings

Nevada's Oldest Thirst Parlor, the Genoa Bar at 2282 Main St., offers a free juke box 6-10 p.m. Tuesdays and free pool 6-10 p.m. Wednesdays. Information, 782-3870. Genoa Bar's Unplugged New Year's Eve begins with music by Foothill Road at 8 p.m. Dec. 31. Party like it's 1899 with no electric lights, no juke box, no slot machines. Champagne toast at midnight, party favors.


New Year's in Genoa

The Town of Genoa Recreation Events Committee hosts a New Year's Eve party, 8:30 p.m. in the Genoa Town Hall. Cost of $25 per person includes party favors, entertainment, dancing, two drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Event catered by the Genoa Country Store.
