A 25-year-old Gardnerville Ranchos man asked District Judge Michael Gibbons on Monday to revoke his probation and send him to prison for credit card fraud.
Kris Brown, attorney for Ryan Hiltz, said her client had no residence or employment, and after his release from Douglas County Jail would have no place to go or means of complying with probation.
He was sentenced in October to nine months in Douglas County Jail as part of his probation.
"I have no place to live when I get out, it will be twice as hard when I go to drug court," he said.
He said after prison, he hopes to move to a half-way house.
"I'd just like to go do my prison sentence," Hiltz said.
Gibbons imposed 12-34 months in Nevada State Prison and ordered Hiltz to pay nearly $400 restitution.
Hiltz failed to appear for two prior sentencing dates and was arrested Oct. 8 in Reno. He admitted using methamphetamine.
