Say no to Walmart

EDITOR:

I walked outside Wednesday morning and got my paper, sat down with my cup of coffee and there it was, front page, Walmart coming to Gardnerville. I know there are people who think it will be great to have a Walmart here, so they do not have to make that treacherous drive to north Douglas County. Oh yes, let's not forget the more than 300 jobs it will create. What about all of the people whose jobs will be eliminated at our local grocery stores, drug stores, and vehicle maintenance centers?

We have everything that we need right here. We have plenty of choices and variety of where to buy our everyday needs without Walmart coming in and closing down small businesses and stores that have been here for the 20 years that I have lived here, We need to say no to Walmart coming to south Douglas County.
