Puppet show today

High Sierra Fellowship hosts a puppet show by the Hands Lifted High puppet team today. DAWG adoption Saturday

Douglas Animal Welfare Group sponsors an adoption event, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Petco in Carson Valley Plaza. Adoption includes free spay or neuter, microchip, registration and $75 reimbursement for obedience training. Information, or 267-9824.

Play and picnic Sunday

Museum lecture

Pat Hickey, author of "Tahoe Boy, A Journey Back Home," is speaker at the Douglas County Historical Society's lecture, 7 p.m. Aug. 13, at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.
