Topaz camping rates too high

I can't tell you how upset and angry I am at the fees for dry camping being increased to $18 per night at Topaz Lake.

This is a ridiculous fee for dry camping, especially for us seniors who like going to the lake for a little R&R and fishing.

When we dry camp, we use none of the park facilities. We bring our own water and use our own rest room. We even dump at home into our own septic system.

Then you increase the annual boat launch fee to $25. I fear this will keep us away from camping at the lake, which is sad for us, since it is close to home and a nice get-away for a few days.

There are RV parks with full hook-ups who charge your dry camp rate. We have lived in Douglas County for many years and enjoyed many star-filled nights and pleasant days at Topaz.

Not to be anymore, I guess. We simply cannot afford, nor will we pay these high rates. I'll look at the stars from my porch at home, I guess.
