Football: Wolf Pack season tickets on sale

RENO, Nev. - Season tickets for the 2009 Nevada Wolf Pack football season are now on sale, the athletic department announced today.

Orders are now being taken for new season tickets for the six-game home schedule that includes games at Mackay Stadium against rival UNLV and a visit from Big 12 powerhouse Missouri. Conference rivals Fresno State and Hawai`i also come to Reno along with Idaho and Louisiana Tech.

Season tickets begin at just $95 and the school is not raising ticket prices this season. This is the third consecutive season that there has been no rise in the price of season tickets.

"We understand the challenging times that everyone is going through and we felt it was important to keep our ticket prices at the level they have been at for a couple of years now," athletics director Cary Groth said. "It's important that Wolf Pack football be an affordable family entertainment option in Northern Nevada."

New this season is a payment plan for season tickets. Order your tickets now and you can pay for the seats in three payments.

Nevada is also bringing back the popular 2-for-1 New Alumni deal again this year. University graduates from December of 2008 or May of 2009 can purchase two season tickets for the price of one.

Another popular option that is back this year is the family section at Mackay Stadium, which is an alcohol-free area.

The Wolf Pack has gone to four straight bowl games and returns 15 starters from last year's team that finished tied for second in the Western Athletic Conference and went to the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl.

"It's early but we're seeing a higher interest this spring," said Amy Engelbert, Nevada's director of ticketing. "We have a great home schedule and I think the public is recognizing that."

Nevada opens the season at Notre Dame. Tickets for that historic game can be purchased through the Link Piazzo Ticket Office at Legacy Hall. In order to purchase these tickets, you must be a season ticketholder or donate to the Pack Educational Fund.
