Brady to attend county leadership program

The National Association of Counties announced the selection of Douglas County Commissioner David J. Brady as one of 25 county leaders from across the United States to participate in the sixth annual County Leadership Institute, a rigorous four-day program developed by New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service in partnership with the NACo.

Nominated by the Nevada Association of Counties, as an official with a commitment to developing collaborative and innovative solutions to local issues, participants will meet at the NYU-Wagner campus in New York City from May 26-30.

The institute, now in its sixth year, has graduated 116 members from 40 states and 110 counties across the country.

Known for enhancing the capacity of county officials to identify and implement innovative solutions to the complex challenges facing county government in the 21st century, this year's program will focus closely on issues of local economic recovery.

Classes meet each day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with NYU faculty and include three evening meetings.

Program costs are offset by corporate and non-profit sponsoring organizations, who also participate in the discussion.
