Gymkhana at fairgrounds

Spectators welcome at the Silver State Gymkhana Club meet, 10 a.m. today, in the Pinenut Arena at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Riders compete in pole bending, barrel racing and other events.

Silver State Gymkhana is a nonprofit organization of riders, age 2 to 72, who meet 10 times a year at the Pinenut Arena. This year is the 25th anniversary of the club.

The club has age groups of 11 and younger, 12-17 and 18 and older for all skill levels. Ribbons and day end awards are given at each gymkhana and a saddle is awarded to the high-point rider of each age group at the end of the year.
