Stars of Tomorrow talent show April 25

High school students compete for $3,000 in scholarship prizes at the Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley's 11th annual Stars of Tomorrow talent competition April 25 at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave., Minden.

There will be 17 acts " some solo, some small groups " playing instruments, singing and dancing. The performers are Douglas High School and Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School students.

"This is going to be one of the best shows we've ever had," said co-producer Len Frueh. "I've been involved in Stars of Tomorrow since the first event, and in recent years there's a higher level of quality. It's amazing the amount of talent we have in our small community."

Prizes range from the $250 People's Choice Award to the $1,250 Gene Zimmerman scholarship.

The event includes a silent auction with items donated by Kiwanis members.

The silent auction is at 6 p.m. Show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children or $30 per family and are available from Kiwanians. Information, Ann Delahay, 267-9675.
