Electronics recycling

Soroptimists of Carson Valley and Computer Corps of Carson City sponsor an electronics recycling day, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at Nevada State Bank, 1656 Highway 395, Minden.

Electronic waste including computers (dead or alive), printers, monitors, cell phones, copiers, toner and ink cartridges, fax machines, stereos, software and manuals will be collected. TVs not accepted.

E-Cycle Day is sponsored by Nevada State Bank, Law Offices of Karen L. Winters, Nanosecond and Soroptimist International of Carson Valley. Local Boy Scouts will be helping with recycling day.

Employment assistance

The Douglas County Public Library hosts a free employment assistance 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at 1625 Library Lane in Minden. Call to schedule a half-hour appointment, douglas.lib.nv.us or 782-9841. Additional workshops, April 25, May 16 and May 30.


Flea market Saturday

The Minden Flea Market is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on Esmeralda Avenue in downtown Minden. About 30 spaces devoted to antiques, good junk and garage sale treasures. Information, 782-2444.


Young at Heart bingo

Young at Heart community bingo is Sunday at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Doors open at noon, early bird games start at 1 p.m. Regular games start at 1:30 p.m. Progressive pot at $250 with 51 numbers. Coffee and popcorn provided. Snack bar open. Information, 783-6455.


Stars of Tomorrow

The Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley hosts the 11th annual Stars of Tomorrow talent competition April 25 at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave., Minden. High school students compete for $3,000 in scholarship prizes.

Silent auction at 6 p.m. show at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children or $30 per family and are available from Kiwanians. Information, Ann Delahay, 267-9675.
