Talent show Saturday brings out the 'Stars of Tomorrow'

The Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley will host its eighth annual Stars of Tomorrow Talent Competition on Saturday. A silent auction begins at 6 p.m. with the talent competition starting at 7 p.m. at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

Fourteen local high school aged vocalists, dancers and instrumentalists will compete for prizes including the $1,250 Gene Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship. Kiwanis is pleased to announce that Kat Simmons will return as emcee.

Judges for the event include Judy Procaccini, Monica Folio, Lynne Barth, Alan Jones, and Janet Geary. While the judges tabulate scores, the audience will be entertained by two students who are not yet old enough to compete and Michael Lesmes, a violinist who has won the competition once and was first runner-up twice during previous years.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children or $30 per family. They are available from local Kiwanians and at the door. For further information call Ann Delahay at 267-9675.
