Robert L. Pardee

A memorial service is 2 p.m. Sunday at Masonic Lodge No. 12 in Genoa for Minden resident Robert L. Pardee, 85, who died March 22, 2009, at Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Mr. Pardee was born Feb. 29, 1924, to Lyall Pardee and Frances Warnke in Bellflower, Calif. He graduated from Excelsior Union High School in 1942, the US Naval Reserve Midshipmen's School at Notre Dame in 1945 and from University of California in 1947 where he was member of Theta Xi fraternity.

He was a lieutenant in the Naval Reserve from 1945-59. Mr. Pardee married Antoinette Groezinger on Feb. 16, 1957.

He worked at North American, which became Boeing, for 30 years as a project engineer. Mr. Pardee was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 12 in Genoa, the Douglas Citizen's Patrol and Reno Kerak Shriners.

Mr. Pardee liked to hunt and fish and in later years enjoyed watching golf, football and Judge Judy on TV.

Mr. Pardee was preceded in death by sister Jean Sterling-Kocak. His survivors include wife Toni, brother Donald (Barbara) Pardee of Cathedral City, Calif., brother-in-law Raymond Groezinger (Betty) of Irving, Texas, sisters-in-law Marie Edwards of Minden and Milli Ruwaldt of Richardson, Texas, and nieces and nephews.

Cremation was in care of the Neptune Society of Reno.
