Mike Bournazian


1945-2007


A celebration of life for Mike Bournazian, 62, an eight-year resident of Gardnerville will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the family residence.


Mr. Bournazian died Aug. 11, 2007, in Gardnerville.


He was born Feb. 19, 1945, in San Jose, Calif. He married Donna Bournazian on Aug. 17, 1966, in Carson City. He retired from General Motors.


Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Wendy of Lander, Wyo.; son Ricky, of Tracy, Calif.; sister-in-law Stephanie of Paso Robles, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Sharon of Gardnerville; brother Ron of Minden; sister and brother-in-law Buddy and Renee Ward of Sisters, Ore.; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and one nephew.


Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory.


In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.


A private burial will be at a later date.


Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.




Dees Kathleen


Burlison


1942-2007


Dees Kathleen Burlison, 64, a 10-year resident of Genoa, died Aug. 4, 2007 at her home in Palm Desert, Calif.


She was born Sept. 5, 1942, to Dees and Phyllis Youdall in Redding, Calif. She was educated in Stockton and Lodi. She graduated from San Francisco State University earining a bachelor of arts in education. She taught health education and physical education in the Jefferson Union High School District until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the Oasis Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif. and Genoa Lakes Golf Club in Genoa. She was past member of the Alpine Tennis Club in Portola Valley and Blackhawk Country Club in Danville. She enjoyed animals.


She is survived by her husband James of Genoa; sister, Dolly Peters of Gardnerville; nephew Kelly Peters of San Francisco; brother-in-law, Jack Burlison of Clovis.; stepchildren, Lisa Lamantia and Lori Bassham of Loomis; Stephen Burlison of San Carlos, Kim Roth of Danville, Karen Beeson of Aptos, and Kathy Slack of Virginia; cousins, Susan Cowell of Leucadia, Pat Squires of Reno, Peter Barlow of Seattle, John Barlow of Sun Valley, Idaho, and Debbie Sharp of Sacramento.


Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to local animal shelters.

Katherine 'Kitty'


L. Cunningham


1924-2007


A memorial service for Katherine "Kitty" L. Cunningham, 83, a 12-year Yerington resident will be 11 a.m. Aug. 25 at the park adjacent to the South Lyon Long Term Care Center on Bridge Street in Yerington. A reception will follow the service.


Mrs. Cunningham died July 25, 2007 in Yerington. She was born May 31, 1924, to Magdalena and Evan Woolman in Butte, Mont. She attended schools in Boulder, Mont. and attended nurses training in Bozeman. She married Robert O. Cunningham in 1946. She moved to Gardnerville in 1972 upon her husband's retirement from the Marine Corps. She was employed at Bently Nevada Corporation, retiring in 1985.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years in 1986.


Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Debbie Cunningham of Tempe. Ariz.; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Elmer Bull of Yerington and Kristin and Dan Johnson of Castro Valley; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Charles 'Bill' Simon


1925-2007


Charles "Bill" William Simon, 81, a 16-year Wellington resident, died Aug. 12, 2007, at his home.


Mr. Simon was born Sept. 25, 1925, to Charles Morrise and Agnes Ovidia (Stene) Simon in Eveleth, Minn.


He lived in San Diego for 40 years before moving to Nevada in 1991. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, riding dune buggies, traveling in his motorhome and Western novels.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Simon, in 2004.


Among his survivors are his daughter Patricia Cole of Pleasanton, Calif.; son Stephen Simon of Temecula, Calif.; brother Tom Simon of Superior, Wis.; grandchildren Jennifer, Heather, Stephanie, Mike and Scott and a great-granddaughter Ellie.


No services are planned in accordance to his wishes.
