Wet weather returns to Carson Valley Tuesday

A strong cold front is headed for Carson Valley with strong, gusty winds starting Monday and continuing through Tuesday. Expect gusts of 40-50 mph. Ridge gusts should hit 80 mph Monday night. If you're traveling through the desert early in the week expect visibilities of less than a mile, according to the National Weather Service.

The chance of rain and snow will increase as the front passes during Tuesday. Snow levels will drop to the Valley floors, with a chance of 1-2 inches of quickly accumulating snow in Nevada. It's unlikely it will accumulate on the roads during the day, but rapidly decreasing temperatures will lead to a hard freeze Tuesday night.
