Wild horses important

EDITOR:

As one of the 325,000 plus horse owners in Ontario, Canada, and potential tourists to Nevada, I feel it is important that your government knows how important the wild horses are to Nevada. It seems that the Department on Tourism is trying to sell your state as an "outdoor adventure land" and the director of agriculture is trying at the same time to remove the wild horses as fast as he can.

Most Canadians view such tactics with disgust. While, as Canadians, we have no say in your state's policies, we can choose to spend our vacation dollars in more horse-friendly regions, and we're not alone in this position. If Nevada's government wants to benefit from a recovery in tourism, it might do well to take a more rational approach to managing Nevada's free-roaming icons.
