Candy Dancers can expect a warm reception at the Orchard House on Saturday night. Public Relations Chairwoman Barb Wilson said Randy Falcke is going to put out more heaters to chase away the chill during the event that gives Genoa's annual fundraiser its name. The deadline to purchase dinner-dance tickets has past, but those who just want to trip the night fantastic are still welcome. Call the town at 782-8696 for more information.

About 30 volunteers gathered in the bay of the Genoa Town Hall on Monday to pack two tons of candy for sale at the Candy Dance. Two assembly lines were going to package the candy, load it into boxes and then into the refrigerated truck on loan from longtime Candy Dance supporter John Ascuaga.

The weather today will be sunny and clear with a high temperature reaching 79 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Expect the breeze to pick up to 15 mph at about 2 p.m.
