Sentencing is scheduled for this morning in the case of a couple who admitted to fraudulent use of a credit card in Douglas County District Court. Sentencing for Melissa S. Miller and Douglas Goldy was continued until today after Goldy's attorney said new information may require him to withdraw as council. The pair are accused of running up $4,159.68 on a credit card, however, Miller disputes the amount.

They're packing two tons of candy in Genoa today for this weekend's Candy Dance. Today is also the last day to buy tickets to the dinner-dance at the Orchard House on Saturday night. For more information, call the town at 782-8696

As always in Western Nevada, when we have a season change, the weather does the exact opposite of what you'd expect. That means this first week of fall is going to see slightly warmer temperatures with high temperatures warming up into the 80s. Today is forecast to be sunny and clear with a high of 75.
