The pilot of a Piper Cherokee PA-28 who was killed when he crashed short of the Alpine County Airport has been identified as Raymond Wieveg, 53, of Carson City. Wieveg owned a software development business. Federal aviation officials are conducting an investigation into why the aircraft lost power 11 a.m. Thursday.
There's a ton of stuff going on this weekend, including a stack of craft shows. The weather will be nice, so get out a do a little sightseeing before winter sets in. Me, I'm planning on voting. That way I can tell anyone who's trying to get my vote, "too late."
The weather today will be sunny with a high near 77 degrees. A breeze will pick up this afternoon. The low tonight will be about 30 degrees. There's no moisture in the forecast through next week.
