Donations may be made to the Carson Valley Children's Center, Austin's House, through purchases at Scolari's Food and Drug Co.
Through Scolari's Friendship Fund, 1 percent of every dollar paid for groceries may be donated to Austin's House or other nonprofit organizations.
Scolari's Friendship Fund was created to help nonprofit organizations and has contributed more than $4 million since 1988.
Scolari's Club Card holders may designate donations be made to Austin's House. Information at Scolari's stores or www.scolaristores.com.
Austin's House is a group foster home in Douglas County providing services and care for up to 10 children up to 17 years. The children are referrals from Child Protective Services and courts, homeless children and other children in need of shelter. Austin's House provides basic living necessities of nutrition, hygiene, rest, nurturing, recreation, companionship and education.
Continued community support is needed to meet Austin's House annual operating budget of about $450,000. Information at www.austinshouse.org or 267-6711.
