The R-C Morning Report

Douglas County commissioners are scheduled to issue a proclamation recognizing Dan Holler's 13 years of service during his last official commission meeting on this first day of spring. The session starts at 1:30 p.m. in the commission meeting room at Stateline. Also before commissioners today are a proposal to increase the fees for false alarms and for copies of sheriff's records. Also on the agenda is a $91,000 contract to audit the towns, the East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts and the Redevelopment Agency as required under state law.

It will be breezy and cooler today with the high near 54 under mostly sunny skies. We received a little rain last night on the west side, but it didn't last long. Wind speeds will top out at about 15 mph. There isn't much more in the way of moisture next week, so it looks like March is going to be anything but a miracle in the moisture department this year.

A wind warning is in effect through Washoe Valley. Chains or snow tires are required over Mount Rose Highway, so I would suggest not going that way if you can help it.
