Holiday giving

n Donate used bicycles, tricycles, wagons or scooters in good condition to the Kiwanis Club of Gardnerville-Minden. Drop-off sites are at the Town of Gardnerville maintenance yard at 1369 Highway 395 or at the Gardnerville Ranchos General Improvement District office, 931 Mitch Drive. n Project Santa Claus accepts donations of good quality winter clothing, unwrapped new toys, books and games. Craft fair

The Young at Heart annual holiday craft fair is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Shopping, music and snack bar will serve food. Information, 783-6455 or 265-2312.


Turkey bingo

Carson Valley Kiwanis Club host turkey bingo Saturday at the CVIC Hall in Minden. First session is 3 p.m., second at 6 p.m. Refreshments available for purchase. All proceeds benefit Carson Valley organizations. Information, Tom Peters, 781-8924.


Alpine Turkey bingo

Turkey bingo to benefit Alpine Children's Center, 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Turtle Rock Park. Bingo prizes are turkeys with a special Thanksgiving basket prize for blackout bingo.

Cookie exchange

The Record-Courier sponsors a holiday cookie exchange party, noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, at The R-C office, 1503 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Leave husbands and children at home, share recipes and sample cookies. Information, 782-5121.


Concert Sunday

The Carson Valley Sinfonia presents its fall/winter concert 4 p.m. Sunday at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

The free concert is sponsored by the Carson Valley Violin School and Friends of the Carson Valley Youth Orchestra. Information, 267-3495. Story on page B4.


Food drive

Curves Indian Hills and Minden Curves host a food drive to benefit the Carson Valley Community Food Closet until Dec. 18.
