A fundraising barbecue dinner and silent auction 5-8 p.m. June 14 at the CVIC Hall in Minden will benefit Katie Estes, who has Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Katie's chemotherapy and radiation treatments have concluded, and the 16-year-old girl is doing well, according to family friend Mindy Miller. But, now the family is facing costs associated with Katie's treatment.
Advance tickets are now on sale for the event. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and younger. There will be a no-host bar and all the proceeds will benefit Katie.
Organizers of the event are still looking for silent auction donations for the event. Anyone wishing to donate items contact Deanna Stephens 782-2208 or Pam Beekhof 782-2884.
