The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is implementing a new software system today. The new software is produced by Spillman Technologies of Salt Lake City. The Unix based system will provide computer-aided dispatch, response, tracking and reporting abilities to manage the Minden and Stateline jails.

Planning commissioners will hear an update on the airport master plan today at their 1 p.m. meeting at the Douglas County Administration Building, 1616 Eighth St. in Minden. Also on the agenda a request to expand the North Valley sewer plant and Park Cattle is seeking to divide its property into minimum 40-acre parcels.

Family Support Council Executive Director Kelli Johnson's last day is Wednesday. Johnson came to work as director of the council about two years ago to the day. She said she's seeking something in the private sector.

Today will be a warm one with the high hitting 80 degrees. Wednesday will be warmer, but it will cool back down into the 70s over the weekend. There's no sign of any precipitation in the forecast through next Monday.
