A public hearing to present an update on the Minden-Tahoe Airport Master Plan was held last night. The plan update being conducted by airport consultants Barnard Dunkelberg & Co., is about half done. Members of the airport master plan working group met Wednesday afternoon.
Douglas County students attended the Legislature on Wednesday for Kick Butts Day. They got to have lunch with legislators and make their feelings about smoking abundantly clear.

The high temperatures won't get quite as high this weekend as was predicted on Wednesday. The high today will barely crack 60, according to the National Weather Service and will remain below 70 until possibly the middle of next week. The forecast shows mostly clear skies for the next week, so any storms will really be spring surprises.
What's not a surprise is that the new Douglas Times cover on Friday will feature the Carson Valley Arts Council's effort to raise money to transform the old Copeland Lumber warehouse into a performing arts center. Nine staff-written stories on the effort have appeared in The R-C since we first broke the story in July 2006. Also in the Reno Gazette-Journal's foray into the world of Carson Valley weekly newspapers, a story about a Minden farmers market, which first appeared on the front page of The R-C on March 9.
