Food Closet donations received

The Carson Valley Community Food Closet wishes to thank the local business and individuals who made contributions for the month of August. Both cash donations and collected can goods supplement the supply from local grocers and bakeries. Together these generous gifts keep the Food Closet shelves stocked for distribution to those in need here in the community.


The following donations were received for August. Food donations (pounds): Shepard of the Sierra Church (125), Lions Club (15), Douglas County Public Library (20), Ralston Purina (46 cases), Pony Espresso (30), Christ Presbyterian Church (18), Carson Valley Sertoma (70), St. Gall Catholic Church (777), Farmer's Market (1,137), Methodist Church (88), 20/30 Club No. 85 (178), University of Nevada Master Gardeners (107), Trinity Lutheran Church (110), Tahoe Community Church (24), Mike Smith (246), Donna Witham (40), and Alice Cooper (14). Regular grocery sponsors: Raley's, Scolari's, Smith's, Costco, Starbuck's and the Sugar Plumb Bakery.
