Genoa art gallery presents miniature art show and sale

Have you ever heard of an art gallery hosting a miniature show? Miniature shows are when artists are given specific size guidelines - in this case, at The Davis Gallery; images are to be no larger than 108 square inches, or essentially a 9- by 12-inch painting.

Local artist Greg Drinkwine said, "the miniature painting has enjoyed a long and illustrious history. Artists' through-out the ages have strived to create the 'perfect little painting.' While the subjects may vary widely, the results are a successful, wonderful little gem that can be cherished for generations."

These shows are very exciting for both the artists painting for them and the customers getting the opportunity to purchase some of the "gems" a show like this produces. The pieces are created specifically by each artist for this event.

The Davis Gallery of Genoa will be hosting its Holiday Miniature Show, featuring more than 30 unique pieces starting at a price point of $300.

The show will run from Dec. 1 through Christmas, with a champagne reception to kick things off on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m., at which renowned artists Armand Cabrera, Patricia Wallis, Greg Drinkwine, Cynthia Davis and Bonita Paulis will be on hand to personally show their miniature pieces.

Call the gallery at 782-0568 or visit online at www.TheDavisGalleryGenoa.com for more information. The event is free to the public.
