Lone Tree artists meet public during Second Saturday event

The Lone Tree Gallery and Framing celebrated its 22nd Anniversary Nov. 10 with a "meet and greet" for the artists the gallery represents.

Lone Tree Gallery has been in the same location, 1598 Esmeralda Avenue in Old Town Minden since it was established in 1985. The gallery features the original works of nationally recognized artists who focus on landscapes of Carson Valley, the surrounding Sierras and western lifestyle. Lone Tree also features western style handcrafted furnishings and provides a residential and commercial custom framing service.

Owners Barry and Robin Jobe greeted visitors with a champagne and hors d' oeuvres reception and gave everyone who attended a chance to meet all the artists the gallery represents.

The centerpiece of Lone Tree is Mimi Jobe, a resident of Carson Valley for more than 30 years. Jobe's work has focused on the Valley, and her annual Christmas cards she produces in limited editions.

Among the other artists currently represented by Lone Tree Gallery are Don Langson, Genise Inman, Charles Muench, Lady Jill Mueller, Russell Ketenjian, Lee Lewis, Robert Winter, Buz Schott, Gary and Kathwrin Jenkins, Marc Hiscox and new to the gallery, Jonni Hill.

The gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about the gallery and the artists represented call 782-2522.
