Girls' basketball: CVMS 7th-graders win Tah-Neva conference title



The Carson Valley Middle School seventh-grade girls' basketball team shocked previously unbeaten Carson last month to take the Tah-Neva league tournament championship 32-31 last month.

Carson Valley got 12 points from Katie Dry, 10 points from Kelsey Walsh and eight points from Cassi Uhart.


In the tournament semifinal, Carson Valley beat No. 3 seed Eagle Valley 32-20 with 11 points from Holly Downer. Walsh scored seven points and Uhart had five.

The Tigers beat rival Pau-Wa-Lu 24-14 in the regular-season finale with 12 points from Downer and 10 points from Dry.


In eighth-grade play, Carson Valley lost 22-19 to Carson in the tournament semifinals. Brianne Burnside scored eight points and Tara Richardson and Devyn Hotho each had four points.

Carson Valley beat Pau-Wa-Lu 24-5 in the first round of the tournament with six points from Richardson and five points from Mia Townsell.


In the regular-season finale, Carson Valley topped Pau-Wa-Lu 23-9 with seven points from Richardson, five points from Burnside and four points from Jackie Harper.
