CVAA paintings on display at college campus

Original paintings from members of the Carson Valley Art Association will be on display in the hallway at Douglas County Campus of Western Nevada Community College through the end of the month.

Each year, CVAA gives one of the paintings at the WNCC show to a business or office in Carson Valley and reimburse the artist whose painting was chosen. This year, the lucky winner of a painting is The Record-Courier, whose staff has been a staunch supporter of the association.

At the next CVAA meeting, 1:30 p.m. on Friday in the Douglas County Public Library in Minden, a check will be presented to the artist whose painting was chosen and the painting will be presented to The Record-Courier.

Also at the meeting will be a demonstration by local pastel artist Arlene Origoni, who teaches art at Artistic Viewpoints Studio and Gallery, across from Raley's in Gardnerville.

The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. Details, call 783-9626
