4-H horse club available for young riders

Are your children interested in learning more about horses? Whether they have a horse or not, they can learn all about horses by joining the Carson City Savvy Riders 4-H Horse Club. New members are welcome at the next meeting, 6:30Ð8:30 p.m., March 16 at Bordewich Bray Elementary School in Carson City. The club meets at the school at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month.

This year, the club plans to shadow the Douglas County Sierra Riders 4-H Club, to see how they put on a horse show. They will also go on field trips. The program is for youth, ages 9 to 19.

Interested youth do not need to be a current member of a 4-H club. For more information, call University of Nevada Cooperative Extension in Carson City, (775) 887-2252; or Judy Fishburn, 883-5929. The 4-H clubs are youth development and leadership programs of University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.
