4-H Club welcomes members

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension invites area youth to join the 4 Paws 4-H Dog Club for its meeting, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at Fuji Park Exhibit Hall in Carson City. The club is open to new members in March, and meets Thursdays, 6:30-8 p.m., at Fuji Park Exhibit Hall. When the weather warms, the group moves out of the Exhibit Hall to the open park space.

The program is for youth, ages 9 to 19, and their canine companions. Youth learn techniques that teach their dogs obedience, showmanship and agility. They also plan field trips throughout the year.

Interested youth do not need to be a current member of a 4-H club. For more information, call University of Nevada Cooperative Extension in Carson City, 887-2252; Sue Dunt, 849-9297; or Ann Essex, 841-8998.

The 4-H clubs are youth development and leadership programs of University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.
