R-C Morning Report

After Carson Valley Days, graduation, the Minden Centennial and The Great Race the Valley has finally hit that time of the summer known as Lull-ly.

But there are still some things going on. Saturday is the Death Ride, but unless you're on a bicycle getting around Alpine County will be interesting.

The Sierra Riders Open Horse Show is 9 a.m. Saturday at the Fairgrounds.

Carson Valley Trails Association members will be doing trail work 8 a.m. Saturday at the Jobs Peak trail head.

On Saturday the big gig will be the Ruhenstroth Volunteer Firefighters annual fundraiser 4-8 p.m. It costs $6 to get in for adults and $3 for children.

There's nothing new to report on the accident that occurred on Kingsbury just above Foothill that stopped traffic for two hours on Wednesday morning. There are even conflicting reports on injuries from the accident. When we get something new, we'll post it.

The weather for today is predicted to be mostly sunny with the high topping out short of 90 and a 10 percent chance of thunderstorms. The temperature will keep climbing through the weekend, but is expected to drop back down into the 80s again by Monday.
