Senior Health Fair and fashion show coming Jan. 25



The Douglas County Senior Center will conduct the seventh annual Senior Health Fair, Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Shannon Ballroom at the Carson Valley Inn, 1627 Highway 395 in Minden.


The health fair is designed to provide seniors and the community an expanded awareness of health care providers and services in our community and an opportunity to address individual concerns, first hand, with health care professionals.


More than 50 health care providers and organizations will be present to discuss their individual areas of expertise. Services include: medical, legal, insurance, residential care, investment, nutrition, community services, consumer affairs, home oxygen, crisis centers, chiropractic, hearing, vision and more.


Prizes will be raffled throughout the day, prizes provided by Senior Health Fair participants. All proceeds from the raffle ticket sales goes toward the Meals On Wheels Program.


A Senior Fashion Show willl begin at 1:30 p.m.


Clothes will be provided by Sidestreet Boutique of South Lake Tahoe and Belle's Boutique of Gardnerville. The models will be wearing the latest spring and evening wear collections.


Free Transportation to the Health Fair will be provided by Douglas Area Rural Transit (DART) by calling 783-6456.


It's all free. All ages are welcome and although the theme is geared toward the senior community, the whole family is invited. For information, call the senior center at 783-6455.
