Today, the eighth annual Senior Health Fair will be held in the Shannon Ballroom at Carson Valley Inn from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is co-sponsored by Carson Valley Inn and other health organizations within the community. Vendors from the professional and medical fields will be there to explain and hand out brochures on the subject.
"It is a great place to go and get a variety of health information in one spot," said Janice Frost.
Besides vendors, the event will feature a fashion show at 1:30 p.m. with models from the Douglas County Senior center showing clothes provided by Sidestreet Boutique in South Lake Tahoe. There will also be all-day raffle prizes provided by the vendors.
The fair is open to the general public and attendance is free.
"Mark your calendars and plan to come. All proceeds from this event goes towards the Meals on Wheels program at the senior center," said Linda Kay, senior center director of activities.
