The cones have been removed from the intersection at highways 395 and 88. All work on Highway 88 from the intersection to the roundabout is supposed to be finished on Friday, in time to open school on Monday.

Students traveling through the roundabout are being asked to enter the lot through the Mahogany entrance near the swimming pool rather than trying to make a left from Highway 88 into the parking lot.

A tip for motorists who share the road with the high school students, school starts at 7:35 a.m., lunch is from 11:33 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and school lets out at 2:05 p.m.

A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the perpetrators of two burglaries in Valley parks.

Between Aug. 14 and 15, the snack bars at Stodick Park in Gardnerville and Ranchos Aspen Park in the Gardnerville Ranchos were broken into and clothing, a scale, money and candy were taken.

The Bloodmobile will be parked along Fifth Street at the Minden Fire Station from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today for the Carson Valley Blood drive.

Temperatures should climb into the 90s today. Temperatures are already hitting 60 degrees this morning as the sunlight spills east into the Valley.

The National Weather Service is backing off of predictions of thunderstorms for the weekend and it looks like it will be clear and warm until early next week when a cool down is expected. Winds will pick up in the afternoon.
