School musical

Performances of the All-City musical, "Once on This Island Jr.," are 7 p.m. today and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday, at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, 701 Long Valley Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

Hope Valley skiing

The 10th annual Snowshoe Thompson Cross Country Ski Snowshoe tour is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hope Valley yurt at the intersection of highways 88 and 89.

A 10k ski tour from Burnside Trail to Secret Meadow is led by Nina MacLeod. The event also features a 5k snowshoe tour in Picket Junction Meadow and on Burnside Trail, a longboard demonstration, discussion with historian Frank Tortorich, fiddle music by Vicki Hass and refreshments Hope Valley Cafe and Market. Student day

Student-Senior Day is Saturday at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Theatrical reading of Carson Valley history, "Portrait of a Pioneer Lady," at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Museum tours led by costumed docents, 10 a.m. noon and 2 p.m. Free admission for seniors and students with accompanying adult on the first Saturday of the month. Datsolalee lecture

Sue Ann Monteleone of the Nevada State Museum gives a presentation on Washoe basket maker Datsolalee, 7 p.m. March 12, at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville. The free lecture series is sponsored by the Douglas County Historical Society the second Thursday of the month. The museum and the Main Street Book Store will be open before and after the one-hour lecture. Information, 782-2555.


'Annoyance!' at Carson Valley Inn

The Dakota Organization presents the adult comedy "Annoyance!" by Sam Bobrick at the Carson Valley Inn on March 12-15.

In pursuit of mental stability, an annoying man drives two therapists over the edge. The Dakota Organization's dinner theater features Jody Paslov, Teri Lynn and Dave Anderson.

"Annoyance!" is performed at a Thursday evening show only, two dinner shows and a Sunday champagne brunch. Performances are: 7:30 p.m. March 12 show, $18 general admission, seniors 60-plus $15; 6:30 p.m. March 13 and 14 dinner shows, $45 general, $40 seniors; and 11:30 a.m. March 15 champagne brunch show, $45 general, $40 seniors. Doors open an hour prior to shows.
