Vintage vehicles roll in to Big Mama's Show & Shine Car Show

The Douglas County Senior Center will host its Sixth Annual Big Mama's Show & Shine Car Show at the Lampe Park Pavilion in Gardnerville. The event is on May 13.

Check-in is 8-10 a.m. "Show & Shine" is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Awards presentation is at 3 p.m. There will be music by "Time Warp," food, vendors and lots of classic vehicles. An all day raffle of prizes provided by area businesses will be included in the day.

The class range is from pre-1948 to 1979 stock or modified cars and pre-1965 to 1979 stock or modified trucks. We also have classes in sports cars, special interests, street rods and "under constructions" (no tow ins). For those interested in registering their vehicles, they can stop by the senior center at 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville, or call the office at 783-6455 and have a registration form mailed to them. The registration fee is $45 (postmarked by May 5) or $50 (postmarked after May 5). Day of the show registration will be accepted.

This year there will be a swap meet of old and used car and truck parts only. The booth space is 10-feet by 10-feet and costs $25. Registration forms are available at the senior center or can be mailed.

A craft and vendor fair will be at the event. Registration forms are available at the senior center or can be mailed. The booth space is 10-feet by 10-feet and costs $30.
